Salzkammergut

Salzkammergut in north-west Austria cannot be beaten: 344.50 kilometres of piste (443 - 2,100 m) and 142 lift systems in 20 different ski areas ensure there is plenty to choose from and that there is something for every winter sports fan! The widest range can be found at the Kasberg, which the locals especially enjoy. Advanced skiers should seek out the challenging "Madlries" run which is 2 km long. Families will be happy here too, as there is a children's ski arena with free child care and an indoor playing area. Family-friendly pistes, cosy ski huts and lots of sporting opportunities mean the ski area Feuerkogel is a wonderful snow experience. The unprepared, 4 km long valley run is something only to be tried by pros! The ski connection Hinteresee-Spielberg-Gaißau is quite diverse, with forest runs and then open plateaus with easy pistes. The free-ride areas at Krippenstein with around 30 km of off-piste routes are known throughout the region. Absolute highlights are not only the annual "White Rush" and the fun park, but also the longest valley run in Austria at 11 km! You definitely shouldn't miss the Dachstein-West ski area, that has 140 km of wonderfully diverse pistes, or a trip to the Dachstein Glacier (2,996 m). 12 kilometres of piste, a super park with a half-pipe and numerous elements as well as a first class free-ride area make the area all the more favourable!
