Klosters: new bike free-ride route
Klosters: new bike free-ride route

A grand event will be held at the popular European ski resort of Klosters in Switzerland. On June 30, 2012 summer season will be opened here. But it is designed not for skiers, but cyclists. On the last day of June in Klosters will start to operate six cable cars equipped with special attachments for bicycles. But cycling fans can expect another surprise - opening of the new bike tracks.

Davos Klosters region is a popular destination for cyclists. Here are developed more than six routes with the total length of about 1,500 kilometers, including eleven specific tracks for free-riding. Many hotels have well-developed infrastructure exclusively for bike tourists: equipment rental, repair workshops, training grounds, etc. In addition, the Adventure Park located in this region also has a bike park.

The length of the new free-ride track will be 5.5 kilometers with the height difference equal to six hundred meters. The route includes numerous turns, steep descents and springboards. The most desperate cyclists can try the 800-meter obstacle course of increased complexity. At the Gotshnaboden station is located a training center, where professional instructors will explain all the route features and help with equipment. But these are not all surprises of the current season in Klosters. Throughout the summer a special offer will be available at the resort. Anyone, who books accommodation in Klosters at least for one night (no matter whether it is an apartment, a hotel or a chalet), will receive Davos Klosters Inclusive Card. The card owner will have the opportunity to use all six mountain routes and lifts at the resort. In addition, it provides for free using of local buses and Rhaetian Railway between Klosters Dorf and Filisur stations. Many rental offices, restaurants and shops participating in the action will also provide owners of the Davos Klosters Inclusive Card with significant discounts.
