Ski resorts in Austria, France and Switzerland open the season


Ski season in Europe starts in November. Ski season comes timidly to the slopes of Alpine Europe. Why timidly? It is because conditions at many ski resorts are not ideal or simply absent. Only high-altitude resorts have the opportunity to announce the opening of ski season in late November.

France

Val Thorens ski resort announced about the launch of the lifts on November 24, 2011. However, it can be different in Val Thorens. This is the highest mountain winter resort in the Alps.

This week following the Val Thorens a ski resort in the south of France is preparing to open the ski season. Located in one and a half hours drive from Nice, Isola 2000 is preparing to open its slopes this weekend on November 26-27, 2011.

Austria

Ski season in Austria with the widely celebrated in Ischgl on November 25, 2011. The resort will traditionally organize a large-scale show with participation of the world show business stars. This time in Ischgl will perform Swedish duo Roxette. It is expected that the opening ceremony will be attended by 20000 people.

Switzerland

Davos ski resort, which this year several times postponed start of the season, finally decided to please the Swiss Alps amateurs. Here the party to celebrate the opening of the season as well as in Ischgl is scheduled for Friday, November 25.
Another Swiss resort Verbier will also open its slopes this weekend.

It is still too early for Andorra

Already two ski resorts of Andorra - Pas de la Casa and Soldeu - abandoned the idea of launching its lifts this weekend. The reason is simple - lack of snow.
