Skiing in Switzerland: Duran Duran in Klosters

(Switzerland Ski Region)
Klosters ski resort, which is along with the Davos forms one of the most famous winter recreation areas in Switzerland, this year promises to be especially popular among the tourists not only because of its tracks and alpine landscapes. On January 21, 2012 here will be held a festival, which promises to be one of the most vivid Swiss shows in 2012. Altitude Festival is the name of the new festival, which Klosters will host in January.

Altitude Festival is well known in ski Europe. Its first version was presented in Meribel. Then the festival was called Altitude Comedy Festival. Altitude Festival last winter was part of the large-scale show Snowbombing Mayrhofen in Austria. Switzerland also decided to host this popular show. And do it at the highest level. So, the Swiss Altitude festival headliners will be the famous British band Duran Duran.

Duran Duran performance will be the most important event of the upcoming festival. Stars of the 80-s will present in Klosters the program that will include the most famous hits and songs from the group's latest album 'All You Need Is Now'.

Before the Duran Duran show will play a Swiss team Pegasus, which also opened the last Colplay stadium concert in Switzerland.
Altitude Festival will be included into the program of the Klosters Snow Polo - a polo tournament on the snow, which will be held in Klosters from 18 to 22 January 2012.

In Switzerland against the background of the franc strengthening is noted significant downturn in the tourism industry of the country. Ski holidays in Switzerland in all times were not affordable for all. Strong franc raised the prices by at least 5-10% compared to the last year. Concerts of popular groups, which previously were held at the alpine resorts in Austria or Italy, were relatively rare for Switzerland. Today, however, winter tourism of the country tries to attract the attention in any possible way.
