Ski resort will be built In Egypt

Holidays in Egypt are mostly associated with sea, beaches and pyramids, as well as a lot of fun and entertainment: desert jeep safari, camel races and other exotics of this hot African country. The only thing, which tourists do not associate with Egypt, is snow and winter holidays. But soon the situation can change.

According to Arnaud Palu, the Director General of «Majid Al Futtaim Leisure», their company is ready to begin construction of a grand snow park with ski slope. The opening of the new complex is scheduled for September 2014. However, it will not be a real alpine resort, rather entertainment snow park, where will be available snowboarding and skiing on a several hundred meter track. In addition, the new complex will include a large shopping center. The estimated number of tourists per year, who will visit the snow park, is 800 000.

Majid Al Futtaim Leisure (MAF) company was founded by the Arab billionaire Majid Al Futtaim in 1992 and since then turned into a global business. The company realized such grandiose projects as huge shopping mall in Mirdif (Mirdif City Centre), where is located the center of zero gravity flights, where everyone is able to feel the joy of free flight. Also in Dubai Majid Al Futtaim Leisure has built the second largest shopping center Mall of the Emirates (it is second only to Canadian West Edmonton Mall), where is located the indoor 60-meter snow slope. This complex would serve as a prototype of the new snow park in Egypt.
