London will take advantage of the upcoming 2012 Olympics to the maximum. Even today, the fate of many buildings is determined. And the most colorful history will await the Olympic media center in the area of Hackney-Wick in east London. Here will be built a ski resort.

The intention to convert the building of the media center in the largest indoor ski resort in Europe was announced by the Acer Snowmec company. Acer Snowmec is known for its many ambitious projects in the area of ski holidays. In particular, this firm has designed a huge center of winter tourism in Dubai - Ski Dubai.

The project was called «Snow in the City». Its total area is about 28 000 square meters. The project will include the creation of a universal center of winter recreation with tracks for alpine skiing, cross-country ski routes, tracks for bobsleigh and half-pipes for snowboarders. In total, in the center will created five artificial slopes, one of which will have the incline of 35%, according to telegraph.co.uk.

London has long dreamed of acquiring its own ski center. The British are known as one of the most active ski tourists in Europe. Transformation of the Olympic building will allow the capital of the United Kingdom to realize the dream of local skiers.

The ambitious project is included in the plans of the London authorities, who plan create in the east of the British capital a kind of "Technopolis", where will be presented small and medium-sized businesses, many boutiques and high-tech malls.

Anyway, the fate of the project is not finally decided. Olympic Park Legacy Company, which manages the Olympic venues in London, will continue to review applications for the subsequent use of the giant media center of the Olympics at the end of the month.
