In India is being created a world-class ski resort


Skiing and India - is a very exotic and even fantastic combination. Nevertheless, science fiction promises to become a reality. In the near future, India plans to declare itself as the world's modern ski vacation. Authorities in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir have decided to bring a ski resort Gulmarg in line with international standards.

The Indian government expects to direct substantial funds for the modernization of the ski resort. In addition, India expects to cooperate with the International Ski Federation (FIS). According to Indian press the plan for the resort development includes certification of Gulmarg ski slopes for organizing here competitions in winter sports of the world level.

Special Committee on the development of the resort - Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA), has outlined the priorities of the modernization of the resort. Thus, in Gulmarg are to be created Wi-Fi internet access zones, the resort will be equipped with a lot of scooters for excursions on the snow slopes of Gulmarg.

Gulmarg is a ski resort in the Himalayas, which offers winter recreation and skiing on alpine altitudes. Tracks in Gulmarg are located at an altitude of 2000-4000 meters. The resort is in hour's drive from the capital of Jammu and Kashmir the city of Srinagar. To date, the resort is equipped with a gondola lift with a capacity of 600 persons per hour. Gulmarg is one of the key centers of freeriding in Asia.

Construction of the skating rink is also in the plans for the development of Gulmarg. In addition, for organizing of world-class ski competitions the authorities of Gulmarg plan to open at least one more lift. As a contractor for the construction of a new lift acts the French company Pomalgaski, which built in 1998 the first gondola lift at the resort.

Also within the resort development plan is the creation of a golf course, construction of which is almost finished.
