Italian ski resort: skiing and chocolate
(Skiing in Italy)
Cortina d'Ampezzo, perhaps the most famous and noble ski resort in Italy, the jewel of the Dolomites region, has prepared for the current ski season a number of surprises for the tourists. One of them is going to be ... chocolate. From 16 to 19 of December 2010 Cortina d'Ampezzo invites skiers to take part in the festival, which was named Eurochocolate Ski.
Eurochocolate Ski Festival will be held at the resort for the first time. Black and white, hot and cold are the two opposites that the festival organizers suggest the guests to combine. Hot chocolate on the white slopes of Cortina - that is the basic concept of Eurochocolate Ski, which promises to be one of the highlights of the ski season in Italy.
So, what is Eurochocolate Ski? This is an opportunity to enjoy the taste of the famous food, which the Italians made perfect. Lifts, shops, chalets, slopes, curling lanes, ice palaces, spas and ice rinks - during the days of the Eurochocolate Ski festival those who came to vacation in Cortina d'Ampezzo will be able to enjoy hot chocolate, this famous Alpine delicacy, almost everywhere. As is known, hot chocolate for the Italian Alps is the same inalienable culinary attribute as mulled wine.
The festival will be held under the slogan "A week in Cortina with white, milk or dark chocolate". The festival organizers plan to organize competitions in downhill Dolce Slalom, as well as surprise guests with chocolate curling. At the Palais des Audi will be opened a great exhibition of chocolate works of art - Chocomarket, with the opportunity to taste sweets and chocolate for children and adults.
Among the organizers of the chocolate event in addition the municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo will also be a tourist office of the Dolomites region as well as the administration of the Belluno province and the Veneto region.
It is worth noting that Eurochocolate is an already established brand that represents a variety of activities in Italy, Switzerland and other countries. Thus, among the closest events to be held under the name Eurochocolate is Confectioner’s Exhibition in Lugano (Switzerland) in November and an exhibition of chocolate in Perugia, which will be held from 15 to 24 of October.
