European ski resorts in summer 2010
2009-2010 European ski season ended in May. But with the onset of summer, not all resorts in Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy are planning to go for season holidays. Skiing will be available on a number of European tracks.
Summer skiing in Austria
Dachstein. This ski resort will open the season of summer skiing on the glacier in the coming weekend. It should be noted that the opening of summer skiing season in Dachstein was planned to be held two weeks ago. However, due to repair works on the lifts opening was postponed. Among the resorts in Austria, where you can try downhill skiing, 2010 summer among the most popular will be Tux, which continues to host tourists. Such ski resorts in Austria as Kaprun, Shtubaj, Kaunertal will be closed to prepare for the coming season. The first to be opened is Kaprun - ski vacation here on the Melltal glacier will be possible in early July.
Summer skiing in Italy
Perhaps, the only chance to try mountain skiing in Italy now is available at Passo Stelvio resort and its glacier Presa, just north of Bormio. However, so far for ski holidays are opened only two tracks: one black and one red.
Summer skiing in Switzerland
Zermatt is just what you need. The highest ski resort in Switzerland, Zermatt, is open for skiers all year round. 2010 is no exception. However, apart from Zermatt skiing in Switzerland isn’t possible anywhere else. Just recently closed season Diavolezza resort near St. Moritz.
Summer skiing in France
France in terms of assortment is much richer than Switzerland and Italy. Three ski resorts in France - les-Deux-Alpes, Tignes and Val d'Isere are preparing to open its tracks for summer skiing as early as next week. The most impressive possibilities for ski holidays in France prepared Tignes. In total, from 19 June to 29 June 2010, resort offers its guests 20 kilometers of tracks at altitudes from 2700 to 3600 meters. Summer skiing in Tignes is also known as "mountain skiing in bikinis.
Skiing in Finland
But the Finnish skiing opportunities are much poorer. The last remaining working resort - Spa Hand - closes the season next weekend.
