Nordic Ski World Championships in Liberec
(Chezh Republic)The Nordic Ski World Championships will be taking place from the 18th February until the 1st March, 2009 in Liberec, the Czech Republic. It is held once in two years and will take place in the Czech Republic for the first time. World’s best and most experienced skiers will compete in cross-country skiing and ski jumping. For the first time in many years women will be allowed to compete at ski jump towers.
The Nordic Ski World Championships seems to become the biggest and the most important sports event in the Czech Republic in 2009. The opening ceremony named White Night will feature laser show and a concert of legendary hard rock band Deep Purple. The International Ski Federation (FIS) President Franco Kasper will tell his welcoming speech and pronounce the championship open. The final medal-awarding ceremony after the championship will take place in Benesovo namesti square in Liberec.
The organising committee has already signed a contract with a Malta-registered company bet-at-home.com pronouncing that the latter will be the Official Presenting Sponsor of the 2009 Nordic Ski World Championships. The above mentioned company is widely known as a sponsor of numerous sports events and a partner of several ice hockey teams from Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.
