Jackson Hole’s New Cable Car Opened

(USA Ski Country)

Legendary red cable car also known as “the tram” for the long period of time was one of the main symbols of famous Jackson Hole ski resort located in Wyoming. It ensured the greatest lift-based vertical ascent among the all US ski areas. Two years ago “the tram” was closed shut down after many years of functioning.

On Saturday, December 20, its replacement was unveiled – new Aerial Tram. It will run along the very route that its predecessor served and its vertical ascent of 4,139 foot will stay the biggest for the country for a single lift (although some ski resorts provide now higher lift-based vertical, but to get on top several steps needed). Resort’s representative said during unveiling ceremony: “We are thrilled to once again have the longest continuous vertical rise in North America and most beloved lift in the ski industry back in action!”

The new Jackson Hole’s cable car lift is one of the most expensive and technically advanced pieces of lift equipment in the whole USA. The new lift is twice as big as the old red tram and has capacity of carrying up to 100 people. To get to the top base now is possible in nine minutes only, which is very cool. And glossy new cabins provide excellent view of ski routes running below.
