Great Ski Areas Merger in Tyrol
(Austria Ski Tipps)By the beginning of this winter ski lift connection consisting of conveyor and gondola lifts, funicular and a bridge over a valley will link Westendorf with other Skiwelt ski area resorts including Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going am Wilden Kaiser, Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser and Söll. So no more bus shuttles there.
The largest ski area in Austria (and one of the biggest in the world) will be a result of such merger.
Almost a dozen of ski villages will be joined together. The total length of ski runs will consist about 420 km and about 150 lifts of different types having collective capacity of elevating almost 250k people per hour.
Resorts of Skiwelt provide the whole range of skiing possibilities both for expert skiers and beginners. They are also highly rated among the boarders. The Kitzbüheler Alpen pass priced at about EUR 200 permits to enjoy skiing or snowboarding in any resort of the ski area and also in the neighbouring areas (bus shuttle still needed to get there).
