Bansko is the Ski Resort of the Future

One of the most popular ski resorts in Bulgaria is Bansko that has recently become overcrowded with many tourists. The government of Bansko is even going to introduce some restrictions in order refresh. It was forecasted that this year over 800,000 will come to Bansko to spend their ski and snowboard holidays.
Bansko is one of the most popular ski resorts in Bulgaria and it is situated in the Pirin Mountains. The resort offers 85 kilometers of slopes to its skiers that are appropriate for skiers of different levels. There are slopes for beginners, advanced skiers and expert skiers. The longest ski piste is over 16 km and the highest piste starts at 2,560 meters high. The ski season usually begins in December and lasts until May, as a rule.
On the whole, Bansko is a cheap ski destination in comparison with other ski resorts in Western Europe. A price for a one-night stay in a Bulgarian hotel starts approximately from $45, while the average price for a one-night stay at a Western European ski resort starts from $220 during the season.
