Sestrière - Olympic pistes for everyone!
Sestrière is 100 km from Turin and is situated at an altitude of 2,035 m. As such, the famous resort was the highest hosting resort of the 2006 Winter Olympics. Both of the hotel towers at the resort entrance have been Sestrière's landmark for years, and served the 1,700 athletes and their attendants as an Olympic village. Architecturally, Sestrière is reminiscent of a French ski resort - the ski region is typically Italian, though. Off the piste there are many leisure activities, e.g. heated outdoor pools, tennis, squash and the highest 18-hole golf course in Europe. In the evening, you can enjoy "la dolce vita" in the cosy restaurants or get carried away by the great après ski atmosphere in the bars and discos.
