S. Caterina - enjoyment in sun & snow!

Santa Caterina Valfurva is a small and tranquil village at an altitude of 1,730 m. It is situated close to the Swiss border, in the middle of the fairytale-like scenery of the Lombardy Alps. It is also nestled in the protected area of the Stilfserjoch Nationalpark. The resort was not just the venue for the ladies' descent in the world championship in 2005, but also the home of the three time olympic winner Deborah Compagnoni. The altitude, as well as diverse snow cannons ensure a higher chance of snow! The location is ideal for all skiers, as Santa Caterina is situated directly on the piste. You can ski from Monte Sobretta, which lies at an altitude of 2,800 m directly into the resort centre. In the background, the panorama is dominated by the summits of the Ortler mountains and the "himalaya like" Forni glacier. Due to its predominantly challenging pistes and cross-country ski trails, Santa Caterina is not just the venue for many important international cross-country races, but also a popular cross-country destination. As it is relatively quiet here too, it is very popular with families.
