Ski Area Traunkirchen
The "Feuerkogel" lift pass allows you to access a true snowy paradise in the heart of the Salzkammergut. A total of 12 kilometres of piste at an altitude from 475 to 1,680 m are excellently connected to the Ebensee lake with an 8-person cable car built in 2009 and a new 6-person chairlift, as well as 5 tow lifts. The family-friendly pistes are perfectly suited to beginners and those returning to the sport. Advanced skiers have the special challenge of the approx. 6 km long unprepared ski route that leads right down into the valley. The prepared pistes on the plateau lets you carve nice turns on your board. The most popular are the Steinkogel lift and the Gsoll lift, but many boarders prefer to test the untouched slopes down into the valley. The high plateau of the Feuerkogel will enchant you with an idyllic winter landscape and a fascinating view of the Upper Austrian region right through to the Dachstein mountains. A particular highlight is the night skiing with music and igloo bar. Tourers and snowshoe hikers will appreciate the plateau as a starting point for trips of all difficulty levels.
