Vent - quaint and hearty idyll!

The Tyrolean mountain village Vent is located at 1,900 m altitude on the southern extension to the Oetz Valley. From here the Vent Valley runs into the adjoining mountains: the Wildspitze (with 3,774 m Tyrol's highest mountain), the Similaun and numerous further 3,000-er peaks. Previously sheep breeding played a major role in the area, and still today during the summer months, the shepherds drive their herds from the Schnals Valley on the southern side via Niederjoch into the green meadows of the Nieder Valley (near Vent). A more commly known event for the Oetz Valley was the discovery of "Oetzi", the 3,500 year old "man from the ice". Those who prefer village charm and tranquility are in absolutely the right place in this idyllic resort. Vent only has approx. 150 constant inhabitants and a comfortably small ski area with perfectly groomed pistes - ideal for families with children. Should you however feel the necessity to run riot on endless pistes, you have the possibility to access Sölden or Obergurgl with the free ski bus.
