Ski Area Obergurgl/Hochgurgl
You will find the skiing area of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl at the end of the Ötztal at an altitude of 1,790 - 3,080 m. Thanks to the high altitude and the modern snowmaking devices it's not surprising that this area has the reputation of having the most snow-sure skiing area in the Alps! With the lift pass you have access to 110 kilometres of piste and 24 lifts. Up to 90% of the pistes are accessible to the snowmaking devices, therefore the lifts are open from November to May! The "Top-Express-Gurgl" gondola connects the two skiing areas – the ride of 3.6 km takes just 9 minutes. During this time you can just relax and enjoy the magnificent glacier scenery! The broad slopes of Hochgurgl are ideal for beginners. Obergurgl is more demanding but also offers a few blue runs. Advanced skiers get their kicks at the "Hohen Mut" (high courage) at Obergurgl – the most demanding slope of the Ötz Valley with its mogul piste and extremely steep run! Boarders can head towards Sölden, but here you will also find a fun park with a quarter and a half pipe. Cross-country skiers don't have quite so much to choose from, but the 12 km of track offer a wonderful landscape and lots of fun! Boarders are generally drawn to the huge snow park in Sölden, but numerous great free ride areas at e.g. Wurmkogel and Festkogel, as well as on the Hohe Mut, ensure all kinds of fun and action here.
