Ski Area Ischgl (New Year)

In Ischgl you have the chance to "ski 2 countries", as there is a link to the Swiss Samnaun. With 43 lifts and 200 km of pistes, this ski area is one of the largest in Austria. 90% of the ski area (1,400-2,872) is located at altitudes over 2,000 m, promising ski enjoyment from November until May. The longest run measures an impressive 12 km, and the many deep snow options and moguls will keep experts' hearts beating wildly. The boarder scene in Ischgl is equally grand, with the favourite meeting point the halfpipe at the Idjoch lift. Had enough of Idalp? Then head to the Swiss area of the ski region! Careful in the duty-free shops in Samnaun, however, as custom's officers on skis keep their eyes open for overly-filled backpacks!
