The winter sport region Gastein counts among the largest and loveliest ski regions in Salzburger Land. Due to its location (to 2,700 m), excellent snow and slope conditions for carvers and boarders are available from late November to spring. In the four ski areas, experts and beginners alike will find just the right run. This is also perfectly complemented by a modern touristic infrastructure. Bad Gastein - ski, mountains, thermal baths! Bad Gastein (1,000 m) is located in the middle of Hohe Tauern National Park. The landscape is distinguished by numerous grand hotels from the time of the monarchy, as well as by many buildings of the Belle Epoque. Bad Hofgastein, the historical centre of the Gastein Valley, is situated at the sunniest and widest point of the valley. A large selection of recreational and activity programmes, as well as sport and leisure activities, offer variety for every type of traveller.
