Pizza, Pasta, crumbly snow - ski vacation in Italy

Who spends a ski vacation in Italy, may see sunny runways of all degrees of difficulty, unforgettable mountain panoramas and alpine cosiness with typical Italian charm. The best known skiing areas of Italy are in Piemont and Aostatal, Trentino and Lombardy, Veneto and Friaul and of course in South Tirol.

The Aostatal is especially beloved by many tourists for its marvellous position in the midst of three mountains Montblanc, Matterhorn and Monte. Slopes here are not only demanding and broadly known by different alpine ski competitions; they distinguish themselves especially by the view at a magnificent mountain panorama.

Lombardy is mostly visited by Italians. There is up to 85% of the whole tourist amount in "Madonna di Campiglio", the most eccentric and biggest ski station of Lombardy. This place is very famous among the Italian upper class, which also affects the prices. Indeed, here you can still find free runways which are arranged by the degree of difficulty.

Especially important for the bargain hunters, who spend their ski vacation in Italy, is the place Livigno, which is in a high mountain valley on the Swiss border where they can find duty-free and tax-free shops. Number one in the "top 10" Italian ski vacation areas are the places named Kron and Alta Badia. Alta Badia has more than 51 lifts and 130 kilometres of runways and is connected directly to the Sellagebiet which has to offer a total of 500 kilometres of runways.

Together all skiing areas of this region are called "Dolomiti Superski Skikarussell", with 450 rise arrangements and 1,220 runway kilometres - a skiing area of the high level!

A ski vacation in Italy is an adventure for everybody, where fascinating slopes are combined with Italian Dolce vita.
